MEDIA INTERVIEW: REIACT CEO MARIA EDWARDS ON THE SLOWING RENTAL GROWTH IN ACT
REIACT CEO Maria Edwards said in an interview with ABC Canberra that the slowing rental growth in the Capital’s rental market compared to other States was a result of imbalances in supply and demand along with Government policies. Many ACT landlords are experiencing financial pressures with rents not keeping pace with rates and land tax increases, body corporate fees and maintenance costs. Properties are being sold as a result, which will inevitably affect supply in the long run.
