MEDIA INTERVIEW: REIACT CEO ON THE IMPACT OF THE BAN ON FOREIGN PURCHASE OF EXISTING HOMES IN THE ACT
REIACT CEO Maria Edwards said that with the small percentage of foreign buyers purchasing properties in the ACT at the moment, the ban on foreign purchase of existing homes will unlikely have a significant impact on the Territory. She noted that currently, the ACT property market is very friendly to first-time buyers who prefer purchasing apartments. Moreover, attracting more people wanting to invest in the ACT would help in terms of getting new developments on the ground, resulting in a healthy supply of properties in the Territory.
